President - Monique McKinery

Monique is a Senior Account Manager at McKenzie Ross Insurance Brokers, with 10 years’ experience in the assessment, quantification and resolution of claims. Monique is sociable, relationships driven, and passionate about providing free educational, networking and career advancement opportunities to the broader insurance industry. Monique founded the Claims Discussion Group (now the Vic Claims Discussion Group Inc.) in 2014 organising ad hoc events on topical issues and drawing on her network to share information in a collaborative way for the advancement of the insurance industry and insurance professionals within it. In 2016 she banded the current committee, and incorporated the group in the hopes of attracting further likeminded people together to give back to the community that we all so love. Monique is an outspoken advocate for women in leadership positions and in insurance generally.

Vice President - Ken Harry

Ken is Claims Relationship Manager with Vero (part of Suncorp) and has over 20 years of experience in the Banking and Insurance sector. Ken has held various relationship, operational and project roles with ANZ Bank across Corporate, SME, Retail and Private Banking segments. Having then moved across into Insurance, he has hands on and extensive experience in technical underwriting (home warranty insurance) and leading and managing teams of people and holds a Bachelor of Economics and an MBA.

Treasurer (Joint) - Mark Rochman

Mark has worked as a Chartered Loss Adjuster since 2002. In 2012 Mark founded liability and property loss adjusting firm Veritas Adjusting, servicing the Australian and London markets. Previously, Mark worked for specialist liability firms G Hughes and Associates and LKA Group, before joining Sportscover for three years as a property and liability claims manager. Mark is also a committee member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.

Treasurer (Joint) - Vrisha Bhagat

Vrisha is a Claims Consultant and manages claims for strata specialist CHU. Vrisha has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry with a career spanning three continents. Vrisha has worked with brokers and insurers in various technical and operational roles. She completed her Diploma in Insurance (DIP CII) from the Chartered Insurance Institute, London. Vrisha is also the joint treasurer of the Vic Claims Discussion Group.

Committee Member - David Kneipp

David is Distribution Manager – Claims at QBE Australia. David has over 20 years industry experience spanning many operational and technical claims areas of General Insurance, including all property and motor vehicle classes, and public liability. David has managed multi-million dollar property and construction claims and has significant experience in negotiating large settlements as well as in complaint and dispute resolution. David manages all aspects of claims relationships between our intermediary partners (Brokers and AR’s), QBE’s sales and distribution teams and the various areas of claims operations within QBE.

Communications Officer - Marini Mann

Marini is Special Counsel at Gilchrist Connell, Melbourne. Marini is an experienced litigator with particular focus acting in the defence of professional indemnity claims, public & product liability, personal injury matters, risk management, policy and coverage advice. Marini’s practice involves acting in claims arising out of professional negligence and has appeared across all jurisdictions acting on behalf of financial professionals, building and construction, education, and real estate professionals. Marini’s practice also includes defending claims involving large scale public liability matters, building and construction disputes, strata disputes, catastrophic injury claims, psychiatric injury and Coronial proceedings. Marini holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Laws (University of Melbourne) with a focus of advanced litigation and dispute resolution.

Social Media Officer - Craig Wilson

Craig is Claims Manager at Sportscover and has been in the general insurance industry for over 35 years working predominantly in the claims area. Craig has held a variety of different roles and senior claims positions within the Zurich Insurance Group. He has lengthy experience in many areas of general insurance including casualty, property, motor, personal lines and catastrophe management. He is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute, CIP and holds a Bachelor of Business. He also has a keen interest in most sports, in particular, football, cricket, water sports and fitness.

Second Secretary - Diane James

Diane is a Client Services Officer with mlcoa (a provider arranging medico-legal appointments with consultants). Prior to this, Diane worked at McLardy McShane Insurance and Financial Services as a Claims Executive. Diane has more than ten years of experience in claims assessing including life Insurance and workers compensation. Diane has previously worked in roles at AIG and NAB (MLC) and also at WorkSafe Victoria (formerly the VWA), as well as Ford Motor Company, Geelong. Diane’s experience with assessment of claims led to her transitioning to working in Brokerages and in claims teams as well as assisting clients with claims involving domestic, commercial, heavy motor and farm pack. Diane has previously held roles in brokerages including Adroit and OAMPS (formerly Arthur J Gallagher).

Committee Member – Mark Peters

Mark is Recovery Director in Claims for Chubb Insurance, a position he has held since 2017. In his role, Mark is responsible for claim recovery for Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America. Mark has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years and has experience in areas including liability, property and travel claims. Mark holds a Bachelor of Economic and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Monash University and is a registered legal practitioner.

Committee Member – Norio Hino

Norio is a forensic accountant at FAS Global and has more than ten years of experience in forensic accounting and business valuations. Norio regularly assists insurers and lawyers in assessing business interruption losses, stock losses and fidelity / fraud losses. He also prepares expert witness reports in the area of economic loss assessments, financial investigations and business valuations which are used in commercial litigation and family law disputes. Norio holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a member of CPA Australia, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the CFA Institute.
